In July 2011 we opened our first pub in the City of London. The Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell, opened to great reviews and at the helm, Martin placed Tom Cadden to help bring his idea to fruition.

2012

We opened our second, third and fourth pubs in 2012, this time in Brighton, Islington and Brixton.

We won our first CAMRA award: Clerkenwell was crowned City and East London Pub Of The Year.

2013

In December 2013 our newest pub in the heart of Clapham opened, complete with 100 seater heated beer garden and Forty Burgers in residence.

    • March – Siren Craft Brew launched with us in Clerkenwell. They went on to be hailed as the second best new brewery in the world courtesy of RateBeer.
    • May – The launch of ‘Unhuman Cannonball’. One of the UK’s most innovative breweries, Magic Rock, created an IPA so big that people queued to find it, making the launch an incredible success.
    • July – keg party for Partizan Brewing of Bermondsey.
    • July – Our webstore was launched, from which the very best craft beer can be delivered to your door.
    • July – Another UK first as we invited Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Cervantes from Pizza Port (Carlsbad, California) to Clerkenwell and to celebrate we held an exclusive tap takeover. Nacho brewed with our new friends at Siren to create something special, a huge hop-forward double IPA called ‘The Big Inflatable Cowboy Hat’.
    • November – We unveiled ‘Movo’ – a collaborative effort between Harbour Brewing Co. and ourselves, a beautiful session ale brewed for the prostate cancer charity Movember.
    • November – We held the first ever event in the UK with Belgium’s newest Gueuzerie, Tilquin.
    • We also launched ‘The National Homebrewing Awards’ with a huge £5,000 prize and the honour of brewing with Dark Star Brewing Co.
2014

We announced the winner of ‘The National Homebrewing Awards’. Andy Parker was awarded the £5,000 prize for his ‘American Red’.

      • January – Jeppe from Evil Twin visited us as we hosted a huge tap takeover in Clerkenwell.
      • March – We celebrated Siren Craft Brew’s first anniversary, with the launch of ‘Maiden’.
      • March – We welcomed Steve Grossman of Sierra Nevada to Islington for a tap takeover.
      • April – We celebrated great beer by hosting #craft100, London’s largest ever pub beer festival.
      • May – We opened The Craft Beer Co. Covent Garden, with 45 taps (the largest selection in the UK) on the corner of Endell Street and High Holborn.
      •  July – We re-opened The Craft Beer Co. Brighton with triple the seating capacity, two private rooms on the first floor and also introduced ‘Forty Burgers.’
      • August – We launched ‘Gracchus’, a gin spiced, deconstructed saison with Siren Craft Brew and Omnipollo.
      • September – After the success of our first festival in April we decided to host Craft100 again, this time focusing on great UK breweries.
      • October – One of America’s finest Craft Breweries, Firestone Walker joined us for a tap takeover in Covent Garden.
      • October – We launched our search for the UK’s greatest homebrewer with the National Home Brewing Awards 2015.
      • November – We celebrated Halloween in style with Weird Beard Brew Co, an incredible 31 tap takeover in Covent Garden.
2015
  • January – We announced Gareth Young as the winner of The Craft Beer Co. National Homebrewing Awards 2015 for his Saison.
  • February – We helped Thornbridge launch their 10th anniversary edition of Jaipur, Jaipur X.
  • February – We hosted the wonderful Black Jack Brewery in Covent Garden for a huge tap takeover event.
  • February – An all New Zealand beer collective descends upon Clerkenwell.
  • April – We’re holding London’s largest pub beer festival Craft 100 in The Craft Beer Co. Clapham for the third time!
  • May – The Craft Beer Co. Covent Garden celebrated it’s 1st birthday.
  • June – We celebrated Clerkenwell’s 4th Birthday in Italian style.
  • July – Siren took on Evil Twin in a beer battle at Clerkenwell and we launched their exclusive collaboration ‘Summer Spreeze‘, only available at Craft Beer Co.
  • August – Clerkenwell hosted a week-long Thornbridge tap-takeover with each day introducing an old favourite or a new release.
  • October – Our biggest and best event launch to date the ‘CBC Weekender‘. Four events over as many days held in our Craft Beer Co. pubs; we are playing host to a hoard of the best and newly emerging international brewers and showcasing their top-class brews.
  • October – Craft Beer Co. Covent Garden hosts a Beavertown Halloween Party and Craft Beer Co. Brixton celebrate their 3rd Birthday, also on Halloween night, in association with Brixton brewery.
  • November – We took craft beer to the city and opened our eighth site Craft Beer Co. St. Mary’s Axe in the shadow of the Gherkin!
  • December – To finish off an incredible year for the Craft Beer Co. we had a Christmas party with the help of Siren Brewing where they exclusively launched their seasonal beer ‘Caribbean Christmas Cake’ at Covent Garden.
